Rosie wasn’t always the clumsy, lovable familiar wandering the halls of Castle Nosferatu. Once a bright-eyed apprentice, she spent her days tiptoeing through shadowed corridors, dusting crypts, and whispering to the blood-red roses that grew only where moonlight dared to touch. Her magic was… unpredictable, often setting vials and spells awry, leaving a trail of minor disasters and giggles in her wake. But the Count didn’t mind—he admired the chaos she carried like a lantern through the gloom. Over time, Rosie became more than a familiar; she became the heart of the castle’s mischief, the little spark of warmth in its cold stone, a reminder that even in a crypt full of shadows, a single, determined soul could turn mishap into delight.

WHY THE COUNT KICKED ME OUT (LORE EDITION)
Long ago, deep in the crumbling halls of Castle Nosferatu, a clumsy apprentice named Rosie served as the Count’s familiar. Her chores were simple enough: polish the coffins, dust the crypts, and tend to the vampire roses that grew only from spilled blood.
One night, she pricked her finger on a cursed black rose, a bloom fed by centuries of quiet, heavy magic. Instead of dying, her heartbeat turned to sap. Her reflection shimmered with drifting petals, and her eyes glowed like a fading sunset. She wasn’t human anymore, but she wasn’t quite a vampire either.
When Count Nosferatu discovered what she had become, he banished her for being “too cheerful and far too sparkly.” Now she wanders the mortal world and streams from her hidden garden, determined to show that even a misfit monster deserves the chance to bloom.

She jumps into magical experiments without thinking, often creating minor disasters.
Rosie forgets where she puts things, including important ingredients, magical tools, and occasionally her own spells.
She tends to overestimate her ability to control magic, plants, or crypt creatures.
Rosie believes most problems can be fixed with a smile or a strange idea, which sometimes backfires spectacularly.
Shiny objects, squeaky noises, or wandering bats can completely derail her focus for hours.
IMPORTANT HEADCANONS
Rosie talks to the castle’s roses as if they can talk back, and sometimes, in her dreams, they do
Despite her failures, she genuinely tries to help everyone and everything in the castle… even if her help usually causes more chaos
Rosie has a secret stash of tiny snacks hidden in random crypt corners, mostly for herself but sometimes for the bats
Rosie is obsessed with small, shiny things—coins, trinkets, and especially buttons—though she never remembers why she picked them up
She sometimes leaves little “apologies” for the Count after disasters, written in messy handwriting and decorated with doodles
Rosie secretly enjoys watching the bats gossip and swoop around the castle; she calls it “bat news”
In a forgotten monastery garden, a rose once grew that never bloomed. Its petals were dark as mourning silk and survived not on sunlight, but on moonlight and sorrow. The last caretaker of that garden was Rosie, a gentle soul who tended the failing blossom through a season of rot and decay. She whispered to it every night, offering comfort while the rest of the world fell silent. On her final night as a mortal, she pricked her finger on its thorn. Her blood soaked into the soil, and the rose awakened. So did she.The garden died, yet Rosferatu rose from the earth, somewhere between human and monster, held together by affection and endless curiosity.
For centuries she wandered through crypts and castles, searching for something that felt like home. The black rose tied to her soul would bloom whenever she found a true connection, then wilt when the mortal world moved on.Eventually, she built herself a coffin-lounge in the ruins of her first garden. She filled it with bats, candles, and cross-shaped trinkets left by people she once loved. Over time, laughter, stories, and soft music returned to her crypt. The emptiness softened into comfort. She now calls it the Coffin Club, a cozy place between the worlds of the living and the lost.
One restless night, a curious bat named Budrick bit into a glowing modem and accidentally discovered the internet. Through his chaos, Rosferatu stumbled into streaming and found a way to speak to the living without leaving her crypt. She now streams from her candlelit chamber, sipping rosé plasma, playing games, and chatting with her petals, who help her rediscover humanity through jokes, stories, and chaotic warmth.Every follower becomes another rose in her eternal garden, and each friendship brings back a little of the warmth she once thought she’d lost.
Most people assume Budrick was created on purpose. He wasn’t.Behind Castle Nosferatu there’s a garden the Count never talks about: the kind that hums when you walk past it. One night, during a strange eclipse Rosie slept through, a blood-fed rosebud fell from its stem. It twitched, sprouted fur, then wings, and shot off screaming like a tea kettle. That was Budrick. Nobody thought much of him except Rosie, who immediately tried to feed him a cracker. For a long time, he was just a bat with a rose for a head and an attitude problem. He slept in chandeliers and tormented the servants. Pretty standard castle pest.
Then came the night Rosie tried to relight the Eternal Candle. She tripped. The candle flew. Half the crypt went up in flames.Budrick, diving toward Rosie because he thought she dropped a snack, slammed into the candle. A burst of soft rose-colored light swept through the crypt, snuffing the flames, polishing the stone, and even reattaching a gargoyle’s missing toe.Everyone stared. Rosie whispered, “Did you do that?” Budrick squeaked like someone caught in a lie. By morning, the clergy called it a miracle. Budrick called it “deeply inconvenient.”The monks from the Order of Petaline Light tried to take him to a holy cloister, calling him “the Blooming Wing” and other titles he hated. The Count said no. Rosie hissed. Budrick hid in a drawer until everyone left.
He stayed in the castle because he didn’t know where else to go, and because Rosie left snacks out “just in case he came back.”When Rosie failed her familiar exam again and almost summoned a demon out of stage fright, the Council decided she needed a magical guardian. No spirit volunteered. They all remembered the demon incident. Budrick, small, glowing, and already hovering near her like a worried parent, was promoted by paperwork no one asked him about. Now he’s the castle’s tiniest saint and Rosie’s unofficial handler. His miracles are small, practical, and accidental — but they keep her alive. Servants whisper that his petals glow before disasters (usually Rosie-related), he can calm curses by sneezing, he once headbutted a wraith, and he is constantly tired. Even so, he never leaves Rosie, fluttering behind her like a rose-scented warning siren.
